WINTER TERM AT THE MENAGERIE!
Menagerie art classes seek to develop imagination and creative design thinking alongside foundational art skills.

BLOCK 1 / HALLOWEEN SPOOOKTACULAR!
Over two weeks the primary school classes will make some weird and wonderful animals masks, while the older classes may want to go a little bit darker! The first week we will be experimenting with fabric manipulation to create texture samples. These samples will be used to inform the final masks, fit for Halloween!

BLOCK 2 / TONAL DRAWING
In this 3 week block we will work on shading and tone in a variety of mediums including charcoal. We will look at art works which are concerned with light and dark while also considering how to create depth in our own drawings.

BLOCK 3 / PAPER MANIPULATION
For the first of our festive activities, students will design and make a beautiful, paper, three-dimensional wreath. We will be taking inspiration from paper engineering and architecture as well as practising paper manipulation and cutting skills.

BLOCK 4 / FESTIVE MATCHBOX THEATRES
To celebrate panto/theatre season, students will design and create a miniature world inside of a matchbox. We will be working with modelling and  fine detail skills, as well as using our imaginations. Tiny magical worlds await!

GENERAL INFORMATION
Classes will be held at Blackhill Bakery, 1431 Dumbarton Road, Scotstoun G14 9XS.
Students need to bring an A3 sketch book, all other materials will be provided.
