Menagerie Festive Printing Workshop for Adults / Saturday 30th of November / EVENING 5-9pm
In this workshop artists/educators Susan Roan and Lorna Gallagher will guide you through two printing processes to design and create your own festive sweatshirt and a wall hanging.
We will take inspiration from winter folk lore as well as the Glasgow mid century designer and head of textiles at Glasgow School of Art.
Robert Stewart attended Glasgow School of Art during the 1940s and went on to become the head of printed textile department in 1949. He taught at the Glasgow School of Art for thirty five years and over that time he inspired many young designers.
Attendees will leave the session with a lino block stamp, a beautiful wall hanging and a sweatshirt with your design. We will be doing screen printing and lino printing which are both rewarding processes that require no previous experience.
We will provide all materials, plus vegetarian soup and bread for lunch. Feel free to bring your choice of festive drink!
Please note the colours and design will vary from that shown in the photo below as these images are from a previous Menagerie workshop.
